What is Kompdesk?
Kompdesk is dance competition and showcase management software. Organisers use it to run in-person competitions, online video competitions and ticketed productions or showcases, with registration, scheduling, live judging, results, ticketing, music and programmes in one platform. Studios, dancers, parents, judges and spectators each get their own portal.
How much does Kompdesk cost?
Organisers pay per event with an event token, from R1 499 for a Bronze token (up to 150 entries over 2 days) to R17 999 for an unlimited Diamond token. There is no subscription. Your first Bronze token is free when you sign up as an organiser, and showcase tokens cost half as much, from R749. Studios, dancers, parents and spectators use Kompdesk for free. Tokens are also sold in EUR, USD, GBP and AUD.
Can judges score on a tablet or phone during a live competition?
Yes. Judges score in a dedicated judging portal on any modern tablet, laptop or phone, using the scorecards and criteria you set. Scores keep working through a dropped connection and sync when the device is back online, and results publish the moment a section is complete.
Does Kompdesk run online dance competitions?
Yes. Dancers submit a performance video link (YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive) with each entry, and judges score in their own time inside a judging window you set. Sections, scorecards, results and certificates work the same as at an in-person event.
Can I sell tickets for a recital or showcase?
Yes. A showcase event lets you build the programme performance by performance, manage the cast and their music, sell spectator tickets online or at the door, and run the show with MC tools and a live running order. There is no judging or registration admin.
How do studios enter and pay?
Studios register for an event, add their dancers, submit entries and upload music for each entry. Fees are calculated automatically, and organisers can take payment by bank transfer or online with PayFast and track what each studio has paid.
Is it only for dance?
Kompdesk is built for dance events and also supports singing and drama, with the same registration, scheduling, judging and results tools.
